South Africa captain Graeme Smith hailed the maturity shown by his team in adverse circumstances after they won the opening test against top-ranked India .

South Africa's preparations for the tour were disrupted when long-serving coach Mickey Arthur quit and the entire selection committee were sacked following last month's drawn test series against England at home.

South Africa will wrest back the top ranking if they win the series.
They were outplayed by South Africa in all departments of the game initially in last test drawing to be a likely outcome remained in the minds of every indian @ Edens ,Kolkata.

Steyn showed one of the best displays of conventional swing bowling seen in India in recent years, as the south African pace battery career-best seven for 51 in the first innings was recorded.


Steyn, the world's top-ranked bowler, finished with a match haul of 10-108.

yes, SA showed tremendous show in 1st test , especially Steyn and Amla. India's main strength is top batting order , if it fails we cant do any thing ,even bowlers cant help so need to have good batsman's when ever seniors replace , see wht happened in 1st ,we didnt have Dravid& Laxman to contribute some valuble score or need to stand and play for some time...thats why we lost in just 4 days ,innings defeat.....
