My Take On TCS

On 23^rd Mar, 2008 we were called by KIIT Training & Placement department for meeting at 5’o clock in the evening in college auditorium. I reached there with my friends at 4:30 pm. & sat in the auditorium.

At 5:15 pm, our Dy. Registrar (T&P), Mr. Venkat Shastry, a young & dynamic person started talking and told us that tomorrow TCS is visiting our campus for recruitment & we were asked to come at 6’o clock in the morning. He talked many things about TCS and told us not to get tensed up. Be confident. We came back to hostel and started preparing for it. I revised all the technical subjects. We could not sleep in the night.

Next morning I got up at 4’o clock in the morning and got ready. I talked to my father as I was bit tensed because of communication. He told me don’t get tensed, just give your 100% and leave rest on the god and he motivated me. I became confident after hearing my father voice as he is my role model.

We reached auditorium at 5:45 as it was our first interview. We were very excited to see the TCS recruitment team. They arrived at 7:30 am. Our Dy. Registrar welcomed them and asked HR head to say something. HR head was really friendly and started giving Pre Placement Talk. He told everything about TCS and its recruitment process. Finally, he told about package (Rs. 3,15,434). This really boosted up our confidence level as we were eagerly waiting to hear that.

Finally at 10:30 am our written test started and it got over at 11:45 am. After test we were asked to go for lunch and to come back at 1:30 pm. I couldn’t have my lunch because tension. We came back at 1:15 pm and sat in the auditorium waiting patiently for the written test result. Result came according to the set i.e. from A to C. My question paper set was C. I was waiting very patiently as my result came at 6’o clock in the evening.

Second round was Tech + HR interview. I was called at 9’o clock for interview. I went to the room and asked May I come in Sir. He replied with the smile yes please come in. I saw a young guy in blue blazer. I wished him Good Evening and asked may I seat sir. He replied please take your seat. He told me to introduce myself. While I was introducing myself he went through my resume. When I finished my introduction he asked me why you like mathematics as he saw in resume that I got 100%. I answered him by that mathematics is the root of all the subjects. He laughed and told that even I like mathematics. After this he asked lot of technical questions. After 45 min,he told me to ask any question. I just asked only one question i.e. to give my feedback about interaction with him. He smiled and gave me a nice feedback. Finally I thanked him for interacting with me. I shake hand with him and wished him good night.

After coming out from there I went to take dinner . After having dinner I slept nicely. Next day at 10’o clock in the night result came out. Our Dy. Registrar told us that 309 student got selected today and started saying name from computer science branch. When my name came in the list I jumped in to the air. I came back hostel with offer letter. I called my papa and told him that I got selected. He was really happy. When he congratulated me, I burst into tears. We enjoyed whole night. This was really a wonderful experience of my life. This way I take on TCS.
