Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) initiated CSR in 1964. It came up with mission "to help enrich the quality of life of the community and preserve ecological balance and heritage through a strong environment conscience."
They have core values like care, innovation, passion and trust. IOC invests in innovative technologies and solutions or sustainable energy low and economic growth o the country along with developing techno-economically viable and environment-friendly products&services for the benefit of consumers.
Every year, IndianOil sets aside a fixed portion of its profits for CSR. IndianOil has a concerted social responsibility programme to partner communities in health, family welfare, education, environment protection, providing potable water, sanitation, and empowerment of women and other marginalised groups. IOC has kisan seva kendras which is a retail outlets to reach quality products and services to people in the rural areas. IOC has also set up the IndianOil Foundation (IOF) which is a non-profit trust to protect, preserve and promote national heritage monuments. As part of its environment-protection, IOC has invested Rs. 7,000 crore for the production of green fuels.
