Friends, in this blog I would like to share my experience about the blood donation, which happened yesterday. Actually, we were amazed about the way in which our college – which is well known for its hard and strict rules- showed the interest in saving the life of a child who was undergoing surgery.
It was marketing hour, when they announced the emergency need for B+ve blood for a patient in lakeshore hospital. Then we, a group of six students become ready for donating blood and we applied for on duty leave for blood donation. Amazingly, the college gave the permission with in five minutes (usually it will take long hours to sanction the leave and might undergo two three higher levels for verification) and the college itself arranged the transportation facility to the hospital.
We reached the lakeshore hospital with in fifteen minutes and from there we came knew that the patient (a child from palaghad district) is undergoing liver transplantation and he need a lot of blood during the surgery. It took more than one hour to give the blood and we had to suffer two or three painful injections during that. They told the blood we donate will regenerate with in one week. Anyway we were happy that by our small help, we could save a life. We could see the relief and happy on the face of the parents of that child.
I think, we all have a responsibility towards the society. We have to show it one way or another and always remember, to fulfill our responsibility no need to be a political leader or a CEO of a MNC, a little things can make huge difference. Moreover, we can say that SCMS possess a strong CSR towards the society, the way in which our college act to save the life of a small child prove that.
